Prof. Michal Hershfinkel is the Chair of the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology, part of the Basic Sciences division in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

Research Interests

• Zinc homeostasis, zinc sensing receptor, zinc signaling in the brain, zinc transport, zinc in wound healing
• Studying the signaling and roles of a distinct zinc sensing receptor, ZnR/GPR39.
