Not many International Medical Schools can boast 100% success on “the Match” (the National Residency Matching Program – NRMP), but that’s just what happened at the Medical School for International Health (MSIH). All applicants from the class of 2018 successfully matched and will be taking up residency positions in prestigious programs in the US.

“It’s inspiring,” said MSIH director, Dr. Mark Clarfield. “Not only is this an outstanding achievement but it’s happening the very week we are celebrating the School’s 20th anniversary at a special function in New York!”
In a letter from the NRMP sent to their private email on March 12th, students learned that they’d been placed. However, the location of their placement was only revealed in a further email from NRMP today.
The NRMP is a program which enables students in both US and international medical schools to rank their top preferences for residency placements, and for residency programs to rank their top candidate choices. After the placements are determined, students without placements enter into an additional program to apply for remaining vacant positions. “This system enables students who haven’t matched to quickly apply for vacant positions,” explained MSIH Administrative Director, Leaura Navi. “In the past we’ve had a few students enter the Supplementary Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP) but this year I’m delighted to say that won’t be necessary.”
This year’s graduating class – who will receive their diplomas in May – will join the 550 alumni of MSIH who are already working as physicians all over the world. Their residency placements are (in alphabetical order):
